IGPA conducted a study for the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) to analyze the financial status of local governments in Nepal. The study utilized data on revenue streams and expenditures from local governments (FY 2077/78 and 2078/79), and assessed revenue mobilization, evaluated internal revenue sources, identified underperforming revenue sources, and offered strategic recommendations for overall revenue mobilization. The recommendations are in line with the study’s objectives to support the Ministry and local governments in enhancing their income sources, optimizing revenue generation, and achieving financial sustainability to facilitate more effective resource allocation and community benefits.
